December 31, 2015: Harp Technologies continues to advance during 2015.

With the recruitment of two new design engineers, improvement of facilities, and the start of its biggest-ever customer project, Harp Technologies has advanced in many areas during 2015. In addition, the open offer base is at an all-time high, giving confidence for the year 2016.

July 28, 2015: Harp Technologies shares expertise at IGARSS 2015.

Harp Technologies presented “Design of an Interferometric Radiometer for an Advanced SST/OVW Mission” at the International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium 2015 (IGARSS 2015), which took place in Milan, Italy, on July 26-31, 2015. On this topic, Dr Juha Kainulainen of Harp Technologies presented the interferometric radiometer design for the “Advanced Sea Surface Temperature and Ocean Vector Wind (SST/OVW)” mission. Dr Kainulainen also presented results from Harp Technologies’ contribution to the Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) mission of the European Space Agency (ESA). Dr Kainulainen has been part of the instrument calibration team since 2008 and presented recent results on the topic “Five-Year Performance of SMOS Reference Radiometers.” The IGARSS is organized annually and it is the world’s premier symposium on the subject of remote sensing.

April 12, 2015: Harp Technologies’ web pages renewed.

The web pages of Harp Technologies have been renewed. The graphic layout has been revised and the contents fully updated and extended. The new pages also enable easy browsing with portable devices, such as mobile phones and tablets. The work has been done in cooperation with Design Reform Ltd (Helsinki, Finland), an award-winning industrial and graphic design company.

February 5, 2015: Harp Technologies signs a contract with ESA.

The European Space Agency (ESA) has assigned Harp Technologies to develop an airborne wind vector scatterometer and conduct an airborne measurement campaign. The work will be carried out under a programme of, and funded by, the European Space Agency. The work will be conducted by Harp Technologies in cooperation with Aalto University (Finland) and the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute, FGI. This assignment will reinforce Harp Technologies’ expertise in the development of scatterometer radars and airborne measurement instruments.

December 31, 2014: Harp Technologies completes a successful year.

The fiscal year 2014 of Harp Technologies has been very successful, with significant growth in turnover and net profit. The order base is also at an all-time high. Thus, expectations are high for the year 2015.

November 6, 2014: Harp Technologies shares expertise at the ARSI Workshop.

Harp Technologies presented “Assessment of Radiometer Concepts for Advanced SST/OVW Mission” at the international Advanced RF Sensors and Remote Sensing Instruments (ARSI’14) workshop, which took place in Noordwijk, The Netherlands, on November 4-7, 2014. On this topic, Dr Juha Kainulainen of Harp Technologies discussed the trade-off between microwave radiometer concepts and implementation options for the “Advanced Sea Surface Temperature and Ocean Vector Wind (SST/OVW)” mission.

January 20, 2014: Harp Technologies Participates in the AgiSpacES project.

Harp Technologies participates in the AgiSpacES (Agile Development Methods for Embedded Systems in Space Industry) project of the Technology Research Centre at the University of Turku (Finland). The project investigates how the strictly standardised and regulated area of space technology can benefit from the flexibility and efficiency of agile and iterative product development methods. January 8, 2014: Harp Technologies’ Principal Scientist appointed.

Dr Juha Kainulainen has been appointed as the Principal Scientist of Harp Technologies. Before joining the company in November 2013, Dr Kainulainen had worked for the Nokia Corporation, Aalto University, and the European Space Agency. Dr Kainulainen brings world-class expertise to Harp Technologies, especially in the area of microwave sensors.
